Directions to the Strike at the Wind Drama
“Strike at the Wind!” is located near the town of Pembroke, North Carolina, in Robeson County, centrally located just twelve miles from Interstate-95 and the county seat of Lumberton. Robeson is the largest county in North Carolina and one of the most diverse in the nation. Pembroke is a safe, friendly town in a beautiful part of the state. We are about 1.5 hours south of Raleigh, 1.5 hours northwest of famous Carolina beaches and two hours east of Charlotte. Performances are held at the newly-renovated Adolph L. Dial Amphitheater, located at the North Carolina Indian Cultural Center near the town of Pembroke. The Center’s address: 638 Terry Sanford Road Pembroke, NC 28372
From RALEIGH and RICHMOND
Take I-95 South to Exit 17 ( NC Hwy. 711/Pembroke) in North Carolina. Head west for twelve (12) miles, through the town of Pembroke. Look for brown directional signs to "Strike at the Wind!" Once through the town, look for the "Best Fuels" gas station and turn right on DEEP BRANCH ROAD. Go approximately one (1) mile and turn left on RECREATION CENTER ROAD. The entrance to the North Carolina Indian Cultural Center is a few hundred feet on your right. Turn into the entrance and follow the road to the parking lot on the left.
From SAVANNAH and FLORENCETake I-95 North to Exit 14 ( US Hwy. 74) in North Carolina. Head west for 14 miles. Look for brown directional signs to Strike at the Wind! Turn Right at Recreation Center Road, go 1/4 mile and turn left on Terry Sanford Road inside the North Carolina Indian Cultural Center.
From WILMINGTON and CHARLOTTE
Take US Hwy. 74 to the Pembroke area. On US Hwy. 74, about 15 minutes after you pass through Laurinburg, you’ll see large brown directional signs to “Strike at the Wind!” Turn left at Recreation Center Road, and again left at Terry Sanford Road inside North Carolina Indian Cultural Center.
From Southern Pines:
15/501/Hwy 211 - Travel South for 25 Miles. Bear left to Hwy 74. Travel approximately 14.1 Miles, Turn left onto Recreation Center Road, Turn left onto Terry Sanford Road, inside North Carolina Indian Cultural Center. Approximately 42 Miles *around 50 minutes.
